My dad was to retire ths coming 14 August...initially he will still be working for UTM but on contract basis (that's the benefit of being an academician...ur service grows with ur age unlike other professions...after 56 ur expertise goes down the hill..(Read: they don't need u anymore)
Being on a contract basis..will entitle my dad to get his pension + his normal pay including all the hobbits of allowances (sgt best!!) it seems ur actuallygonna get 1.5 more of ur pay..but actually NO..just slightly more..(gomen pandai..xkan nak bayar gaji lebeh2..so they'll cut here n there lah..so basically he'll get a fraction more lah..)
But all that took a huge turn last weekend when Pak Lah announced that the mandatory retirement age for Civil Servants will be extended to 58 effective 1st July 2008...so kapush!!! ..my dad does not have to retire afterall...still good n kicking in service..thou he won't get the xtra out of contract but i believe its ok..afterall all he's debt free now...n Im happy (ths part my hubby x suka..hehhehe) Y bcoz being the only daughter im still my father's little gurl ...only now my dad could spend a little more on us..after all the hard work..in a way i know he couldn't give me a lot wen i was still his responsibility( althou i did'nt face hardship thruot...just that luxury was not an option)...now that he can...Im married with a child...so I guess in a way he still helps me out thou i never ask...he would all of a sudden give me $$..or pay for somethg....heheh its nice to hav daddy's help once in a while..
So in other words Im benefiting now that the retirement age has been extended...n it applies to me too..thou i hope i don't hav to slog myself to work till Im 58..heheheh

My school frens n i had Raya Potluck Open HSe at moi's crib last sunday..we had a blast..or atleast i thot it was a blast...n terror2 rupanya my frens ni...yg paling terror was of course dd..credit to her..she made nasi ayam and oso laksa johor...Hats off to her.. ooh n not forgetting the nice keny rogjie...sedop gilos from dapur gjie..siap gravy, mashed potato n salad tu...

i had the oppertunity to go to the metrojaya warehouse sale last thursday...thou my SIL beat me to it...hehe n i had to rush home ASAP.. but 1 hour was enuff for me to burn my $$$...the best catch has to be buying my padawans pj's.. i bought a handfull all for oni RM44.50 (ill upload the photo's later) as u all know..im a sucker for bargains..hehe..
My DIGI man..(can u believe that this sleepsuit oni cost RM7..best best..hehe)
Apparently the next day his temperature stayed within the range of 38.3-39.0 it rose to 39.9 by nite..i was praying for the 6 hours interval to past quickly as the GP told me that u need to wait till 6 hrs before u can give him the butt medication after the oral medication..(n oni once within 24 hours)..after numerous attempts the capsule went in..n i took him to our room..full blasted the aircond...n oso sponge my padawan..stuck kool-fever on his head..then oni the temperature started gowing down..my parents (who was at my place) kept saying ..no need to panic..they said harris looked fine..but of course i panic..he's never had a high fever n the basic rule i learned is that for kids 6 months and above if the tempreture reaches 39.4 we should make it go down fast..alhamdulillah next day..his fever vanished..but i made him stay at home n didn't bring him anywhere for the fear that the heat n open hse activity wud trigger the fever back..
So on Monday..it was back to open hse..n this time at my uncles in Bkt Jelutong..thot it was oni for close frens n relative..didn't know he invited 1k++ gust..mcm kenduri kawin..hahha there were numerous stalls..even mee rebus baidali was there..n because i took care of my darling padawan..i ended up getting a bad flu...n its still with me..huhuhu
Last Years Wishlist
Was going thru my archives and came across this particular entry ...it made me smile.. y..because i wrote it like a year plus b4..n within this period..i cud tick off most of the items i wished for..hehe
1. Digital Camera (checked)
2. A nice pair of shades..(the one i saw @ GUCCI perhaps)..;-P (checked..thou not GUCCI)
3. Sling bag n slippers (this one i thk im able to afford b4 my trip..) (checked..mom bought me a sling bag from her trip to Italy..)
4. Handbag for work...this one seriously in need of.. (checked..dah nak lunyai pon..hehe)
5. Black strap sandles....Eying Rockpot (Checked..not black thou..)
6. A new car..kakakakaka which is automatic..driving to KL is soooo stressful..a Beamer perhaps (keep on dreaming...) (SERIOUSLY..DREAM ONN or check back within 5 years time thou i dont hav to go thru the KL traffic anymore n im driving an Auto car..(achievment gak tu))
7. A maid to do our ironing..kekeke (CHECKED!!!!!!!!!!! SOOOOO HAPPY)
8. Lots n lots of pretty frocks for weddings..i keep wearing the same attire for every occasion (sian kita..x mampu nak pay for the tailoring services too xpensive ..) (alhamdulillah..i have a growing wardrobe)

TRIFFLE
Several friends have requested for my triffle reciepe...not that im a great cook or what but since one of my friend came yesterday asking me to assist her in preparing it..n i promised another friend id blog it up..so here goes..it is the simplest easiest yummy dessert for u guys to try...I hav to give credit to my aunt who gave me the recipe... i just love how simple it is plus its soo heavenly nice..hehhe
Ingredients
Swiss Roll - 1 Roll
Jelly (my choice Nona) - 1 box
Fruit Cocktail - 1 tin
Evaporated Milk (i usually use Ideal) - 1 tin
Water - 1.5 tin
Sugar - 3/4 tablespoon
Custard (Birds) - 2.5/3 tablespoon
Whipped Cream -1 small box
1. Cut n lay the swiss roll on the base of the serving dish
2. Cook the jelly n let it cool down for 5 minutes.. then pour on top of the swiss roll layer (don't worry if ur swiss roll starts to get soggy..it's meant to be that way..)
5. Done..it should look like this...u can put in the fridge..but pls let it cool of for at least 20 minutes...
p/s : This is my equation of a tablespoon..and the one i did for my friend was for a big group of ppl..but my ingredients r for 5-6 ppl...

6. For the xtra umph...whip some whipped cream n layer on top of it before serving...

Mama work..harris play..
Had to attend a course on Contract Administration last Sunday at TBR..luckily they allocated room for the Executive levels n above so i cud bring bam bam..if not i wud hav declined going..
It was a 3 days 3 nights course n there were classes at nite too...so basically not much pleasure time...but in between manage to bring bambam swimming..his first...althou he was a bit reluctant at first to be in the water..but he became more relax the next day..
My review on TIARA BEACH RESORT :
Its quite a comfortable place to be..the rooms are quite generous in terms of the space..the perks is that they have a huge swimming pool...aka waterpark...so thou they have numerous blocks of studio apartments..there's still room for everyone in the pool...the food was ok..not to say marvellous or splendid..but ok..edible.. the downside of it is that the resort was far**in far from PD town...20KM away ok...n the nearest petrol station was 10 km away...that was the the real downside of it..i had to drive 20km to n fro everyday to buy my maids dinner..hotel food was a bit on the expensive side..RM10 for nasi ayam..
To sum it up..if ur on a middle class budget..this is a place for u guys...

ok..i wish to update..but the thing is nothing really pumps up my blog adrenaline now.. everything is soo monotonous...i have S**it load of work to be done..lets just leave it as that..
On the brighter side of things..My padawan will be ONE the 4th...oh my..how time flies..n his not a baby anymore...althou im living in denial as Im soo used to calling him "Baby..hav u eaten..u want susu..Baby nak sleep?..." yes ur mama is still hoping u wont grow up soo fast..I clearly remembered the stressfull phone calls to my buddies asking? "does this constant crying ever stop??" "do they nurse like every hour???" hehhehhe..gone r those days..n to those expecting thier first..The answers are "YES..gradually the constant crying n making u feel u wanna hurl up n just die in the closet will go away..."
Insyallah if #2 comes..(Which is not in the near future..so don't get all hype ok..I still have my Pregnancy weight..duh!!) Ill be better prepared..heheh..
N with his age turning 1, alhamdulillah..I will pass the one year mark of exclusively Breastfeeding my son..EXCEPT for twice the time I had to be away on a course..which till now I feel the guilt of having to supplement him due to my dumbness in not stocking my EBM during my confinement days..(thats wat u call cetek ilmu..hehhe) Im not here to boast or any of the sort..but its a life achievement for me..the best gift I can give my son..hopefully it will be of use in future....
There will be no major celebrations for my padawan..because I dont think its necessary..afterall what does he know about birthdays..but i'll definately buy a cake for fun to mark the day..(to those who do celebrate thier childs one year old birthday..pls don't get offended...me n hubby just feel that a party wont be necessary for now but i respect other ppls reason in having one..)
On the 8th..it'll be our anniversery...our 2nd..ye..baru 2 years married...n it falls spot on Raya Haji..a dual celebration..last year I was in my 4th day of Confinement..so I guess no romantic dinner of the sort..probably go to sembahyang Raya sama2..romantic gak tu...for those who know my man personally will know Romantic does not exist in his vocabulory...but im not complaing..but like the song Im soo into rite now...Im LUCKY to be with him...

My BABY is ONE.... OMG i cannot believe...One year ago at this present time I was screaming my lungs out to deliver my padawan..n now a year has past.. i can still remember clearly the pain of being induced.... the longest EVER 2 hours of my life....bearing the pain...n the feeling wen i first laid my eyes on my padawan..
The crying (me the most) hahha..the stress.. the first smile...the first giggle....the first fever..all those r a prominent chapter in my life..that i would not trade even for a million bucks....

Harris Turns One
We had a micro mini celebration to mark harris birthday..my boy is One...those that attended was harris close aunties n uncle's..thanks for coming u guys..n for the prezzie..although i wish u guys did'nt bring any..since the bday celebration was done to mark his day n not for him to get prezzies..even me n hubbs have yet to get him one..thanks again u guys n not forgetting harris tok ayah n nani, aunt dd, aunt ikek n D, n aunt linda for getting harris something..

LIPSTICK JUNGLE
I finished watching Season 1 of Lipstick Jungle the other day..n I loved it..D Executive producer is no other than Candace Bushnell...bravo to her..I love her work..there's actually a lipstick jungle book..which im aiming to get my hands on..(or hoping that someone mite be kind enuff to buy for me..*wink.wink)
Lipstick Jungle to me is a diversion of SATC...more power more career oriented but nonetheless entertaining with the scandals n all...an i admire their wardrobe..fantastic compared to SATC..im more a conservative all plain minus frills wen it comes to playing dress up..I love Lindsay Price..I think she is sooo pwetty...n her characters sense of style is....awwww...ok so u get me..im not on the SJP train wen it comes to sense of style...
But anyway gurls..if u have time watch it... the first season only has 7 episodes..n my SIL says it was aired on Astro but im not so sure..i just prefer watching TV series on DVD as theres no commercial n u can pause ..rewind..resume..(ok so u get it...) i have the DVD but my SIL has book to see it..so if anyone is interested do let me know..i charge RM10 per DVD per day..hahah no only joking...
Btw..i forgot to mention Brooke Shields is oso in it..but shes no longer stunning as she used to be..she has aged..n so hav we..sigh...

Holiday Mood.............
Off late my workload is not giving me break..im soo in a holiday moood rite now..I just wish that i cud be doing something i love more....(read conflict of interest) but one thing that keeps my sanity is this little human being that gets me going each passing day...
He's really cheeky..i just love wen he giggles..but im a bit worried that he's almost 13 months but has still yet to walk.he can walk if i hold only one of his hand..n he loves to lean on things but still seem very afraid to let go....a few friends hav mentioned to use a walker..but reason being is that i came across a few article that a walker actually causes more harm in a sense that it only strengthens the lower part of the leg n not the upper..n is accidents prone specially for those living in small spaces like me..my cousin fell from his walker which cause a permanent mark on his face..so that is why i refuse to use the walker..no offense to anyone..juts that i don't feel good about it..n I believe that we should follow our feelings (provided that its backed by facts..refer to this) rather than following wat others do..just my 2 cents..after all if anythg happens its u who deal with it..
Ill be going back to JB (read: ikan bakar, ice kacang, mee rebus, yong tau foo, rojak asma) tomorrow but don't think ill stay that long after JB will b MUAR to visit my grandma..i miss her n she's not well..Shes 85 this year..n osteoporosis is catching up on her i really hopes she gets well soon....On another note I think I mite checkout Pyramid today with my bam bam...since we haven't been to any malls for this festive season..(hopefully i get the green lite form the SE in TDC...hihi..
